On December 30th, at the newly commissioned 220kV Kuidong East Industrial Park Substation, operation and maintenance personnel from State Grid Kuitun Power Supply Company conducted a comprehensive inspection of the substation. Utilizing technologies such as infrared thermography, they monitored the real-time operating performance of the equipment, ensuring the safe and stable operation of the substation and providing strong electrical support for the region’s economic development.
This year, the company has diligently implemented the State Grid Corporation of China’s initiative to accelerate the development of a modern equipment management system. Prioritizing safety and adhering to principles of reliability, standardization, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, the company has vigorously promoted the “two replacements” initiative (replacing manual operations with automated systems and transitioning to smart grids) and progressively implemented one-click sequential control. Currently, 21 substations under the company’s management have been equipped for one-click sequential control operations.
One-click sequential control is an innovative technology based on automation systems. Traditional switching operations require on-site personnel or control room operators to manually execute procedures outlined in operation tickets. However, this new technology pre-programs these manual switching sequences into a computer system. With a single click of the “one-click sequential control” command, operators can seamlessly transition primary substation equipment between the three operational states of “cold standby,” “hot standby,” and “operational” states, reducing manual operation time by over 50%. For this particular commissioning, Kuitun Power Supply Company innovatively integrated key elements like anti-maloperation checks for equipment status and protection device status verification into the one-click sequential control process. This not only precisely verifies equipment operating conditions but also incorporates the activation/deactivation status of protective device switches and alarm information into the control lockout logic, truly realizing the automation of complex tasks and intelligent data-driven operations.
On December 26th, with the click of the “Execute” button on the one-click sequential control interface, the No. 1 and No. 2 main transformers at the 220kV Kuitun East Industrial Park Substation were successfully energized. As the first substation under Kuitun Company to utilize one-click sequential control for commissioning, a dedicated team of technical experts was assembled to thoroughly research and refine technical measures, develop a comprehensive work plan, and oversee safety, quality, and progress to efficiently complete the system optimization tasks for the substation’s one-click sequential control system.
The energization process, lasting 81 hours, efficiently and safely completed 6,300 operations, including executing dispatch commands from provincial and regional control centers, phase checking, and load testing. “Substation commissioning time has been reduced from six days to three days and nine hours, significantly improving safety and operational accuracy while virtually eliminating the risk of misoperation,” explained Jin Xiaofeng, head of the centralized control station at State Grid Kuitun Power Supply Company’s Substation Operation and Maintenance Center.
To date, the company has successfully executed 243 switching operations using one-click sequential control, increasing efficiency by approximately 60% and achieving fast, accurate, and stable operations. This technology significantly reduces the workload and enhances the safety of operation and maintenance personnel.
