During the period, the city's exports of goods related to competitive industries grew rapidly. In particular, exports of mechanical and electrical products expanded 9.6% to 105.16 billion CNY, accounting for 65.6% of the city's total export value.

From January to November, Changsha's exports of automobiles (including chassis), flat panel display modules, and electrical appliances in competitive industries reached 15.22 billion CNY, 10.69 billion CNY, and 7.37 billion CNY, respectively. In the same period, exports of the "three new" products—lithium-ion batteries, photovoltaic products, and electric vehicles—totaled 7.86 billion CNY, an increase of 79.6%, while exports of construction machinery soared 24% to 26.47 billion CNY. In terms of the city's exports related to characteristic industries, fireworks and firecrackers, tea and hybrid rice saw their export value hit 4.1 billion CNY, 760 million CNY, and 240 million CNY, respectively.

In the first 11 months, Changsha's imports of mechanical and electrical products and bulk commodities increased significantly. In particular, the city imported 43.15 billion CNY of mechanical and electrical products and 17.38 billion CNY of bulk commodities.
